Attention Everyone,
This Friday (06/27/14) the Los Angeles City Committee on Public Safety will be considering Council File 13-0068 which is a ban on the possession of Standard Capacity Ammunition Feeding Devices (Magazines) with a capacity of greater than 10 rounds within the city limits.
That means you will not able to even travel through the city of Los Angeles to a range with your lawful owned magazines without breaking the law.
Please CALL AND WRITE all the representatives of the committee and your local council district representatives and let them know that this will put an undo burden on their constituents who enjoy recreational and competitive shooting, and that you strongly urge them and their colleagues to vote against this ordinance.

Appleseed “AAR” – Azusa “One Day Shoot” 6/21/2014
This was a great Appleseed.
We ran Azusa’s first one day Appleseed.
We had 3 instructors and 2 blue hats.
1 Luther Blanchard patch we gave out.
1 re-qual rifleman at 218.
1 father son and 1 father daughter.
And 12 students all on paper and chasing the 4moa square, it was a great day.
Sadly with all the excitement we didn’t get any pictures, I apologize.

Weather (If you think it played a part in no-shows or safety): It was Hot, 95 degrees. but attendance was only 3 rescheduled cancels and 1 no show.

The Good: David, Bucklenose performed his final redhat task and now just needs to finish his paperwork.
Even with the heat people hung in and did well. We got 3 strikes in, Mother Batherick, Dr. Warren and Lydia Mulliken.
The Bad: It was hot! We had one person leave early feeling ill and he was shooting 4moa and another feeling ill around 130pm, but he rested drank gatorade and re-qualified.
Safety issues: After lunch we had a few late shots on the cease fire and we had one pre-fire discharge, but all saftey rules where in full action so everyone was Ok.

June – Insight Monthly Shoot After Action Report

Weather: Sunny and clear

Event Details:One minor injury from a member being slide bitten by a semi auto pistol. We also had quiet a few new members to calguns.net showed up, including one looking to buy his first gun, he was able to shoot many of our guns and enjoyed himself.
If attendance keeps up, we will consider pizza soon

Event Details: Great day on Sunday as 14 ladies came out an attended out Pistol Clinic. Almost half of the class had never handled a firearm before while the rest of the ladies had handled a firearm once or maybe several times. It was good to see a couple of returning students who wanted to come back for more and they also brought their friends.
By the end of the day all of the ladies were doing well and getting exceptional groupings. 14 more ladies who have been introduced into shooting sports.

Event Details: 16 ladies came out to our NRA Women On Target® Instructional Shooting Clinic. This month’s clinic focused on safe handling, storing and basic pistol marksmanship. We had a few returning students form our rifle class and they even brought a friend or two of theirs and several mother’s that came with their daughters. All had a great time and want to continue to learn more.

Our 2nd event went good, everyone was a bit late, but we did have 10 people total. Everyone talked, hung out and shot each others guns. Many new members attended and enjoyed themselves. Afterwords a group of us went to dinner.
Will set up another event for next month.
